Hawaiian Inn opened in 1965 as a 4-story Hotel. In 1974 they added 5th floor.

Even though they always had higher maintenance and were trying to avoid Special Assessment, you can’t outrun time, and by 2007 the need to do more than just preventive maintenance became obvious. The most expensive work for any condo-hotel or condo is concrete restoration.
This renovation could not come at a worse time. Owners struggled with maintenance and thousands of dollars extra in Special Assessments was very difficult to say the least.
Many owners defaulted and prices plunged to mid $10s. The lowest paid price was $15K, and there were several more for under $20K. At times it felt like they will not be able to pull it off, but like there is sun after a long dark night, they weathered all the adversity and came out stronger.
And, of course, prices are nowhere near those $15K or $18K.
